Chris Cole je goreč oboževalec rock skupine Steel Dragon. Še posebej se navdušuje nad pevcem Bobbyjem Beersom in si želi biti on. Chris sicer živi pri starših, kjer se stalno prepira z bratom, denar pa si služi s popravljanjem kopirnih strojev. Obenem vodi skupino Blood Pollution, v kateri s prijatelji preigrava skladbe svojega najljubšega benda. Ko ga nekega dne vržejo iz skupine, je Chris popolnoma na tleh. Potem pa prejme telefonski klic, ki mu spremeni življenje. Bobby Beers odhaja iz skupine Steel Dragon in on naj bi ga zamenjal. Nenadoma se iz oboževalca povzpne v boga rocka, ki ga obožujejo milijoni.
