Družina McCallister se odpravi za praznike v Miami. Kevin pa pomotoma odleti v New York.Družina McCallister bo božične praznike preživela v Miamiju. Vse lepo in prav, če se ne bi najmlajši sin Kevin vkrcal na napačno letalo in pristal v New Yorku. Očetova kreditna kartica fantu omogoči nastanitev v luksuznem hotelu in vse kaže, da bo praznike preživel sam. A potem spet sreča falota Harryja in Marva, s katerima je pred časom že obračunal.
