Biografska drama o življenju Tome Zdravkovića, zvezdnika nekdanje Jugoslavije, ki je lomil srca z melanholičnimi popevkami o neizpolnjenih ljubeznih in drugih “kafanskih” mukah. Zgodba spremlja njegovo življenje do vrhunca njegove priljubljenosti in težav, ki so ga pripeljale na rob propada. Film sledi dvema smernicama. Leta 1991 spremljamo odnos med Tomo in zdravnikom, ki ga začne zdraviti, in kako se to poznanstvo spremeni v prijateljstvo. Obenem pa spremljamo tudi Tomovo življenje od otroštva v Pečenjevcih, prek poznanstva s Silvano Armenulić, ki bo odločilno vplivalo na njegovo kariero. To je zgodba o duši.

Biopic about Toma Zdravkovic, the man who is remembered not only for his songs and unique way he sang them, but also for his bohemian behavior and soul. The film explores both the very beginnings of his career and the height of his fame. Pivotal moments in his career are seamlessly woven into his complicated relationships with the women he loved, who inspired him to compose some of his greatest hits. Not to be forgotten are a huge number of lively friends he had in the artistic milieu of former Yugoslavia who create eccentric storylines of their own enriching Toma's story. In addition to Toma, the film shows lives of well-known artists of that time: Zoran Radmilovic, Mika Antic, Tozovac. The film follows two lines: 1991--the relationship between Toma and a doctor who starts Toma's treatment, and how it evolves into a friendship. The second line is about Toma's life--from childhood in Pechenjevci to a friendship with singer Silvana Armenulic, that will have crucial effect to his career and private life, to the time when he reached unfathomed popularity, but also touched the bottom of life. This is a story of the soul.
